Extra-Curricular

The school provides a range of activities to enrich the pupils’ experience outside of school time. Pupils can make choices about their free time activities and it is an aim of the school to support pupils towards being able to occupy their free time with minimum adult guidance.Bike riding

Examples of leisure and sporting activities include gym and games, basketball club, juggling, swimming, forest walks, outings to the locality – shopping, cafes, eating out. Many pupils enjoy walking or riding their bikes to Moors Valley Country Park. Bikes, tricycles and go-karts are ridden around the school estate. Regular young men’s and women’s groups take place. Examples of recent activities organised by these groups include crab fishing at Mudeford (the men!) and hosting a Lords’ and Ladies’ evening with dancing (the women!)

Every Thursday evening the Seniors Programme students go to Bryanston school in Blandford, for supper and sports activities. Cultural events include attending concerts and plays in local theatres or learning to play a musical instrument. Pupils also attend events hosted by other activities of the Sheiling Trust.
