Governance
The governing body of the school, called the School Council, has as its members Trustees, parents, friends of
the school, staff and co-workers, all of whom support and appropriately challenge the management of the school. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise from many different backgrounds. They provide a sounding board for new ideas and monitor the effectiveness of school policies.
The members of the School Council are very active within the school, taking part in colour light therapy, statutory visits to comment on the physical state of houses and classrooms, health and safety monitoring and visiting the houses, classes and workshops. Balancing their roles, within the definitions of governance, brings members into contact with young people and staff.
Council members work in partnership with those in other roles, endeavouring to maintain a safe and beautiful environment for the young people to learn and grow.
