Inclusion
Our approach to inclusion is based on our ethos of providing each pupil with the opportunity to realise their own potential through the broad range of activities, social life and learning in which they engage. The School views inclusion for its pupils as the endeavour to:
- enable each individual to feel part of a meaningful social context: a sense of belonging
- build a supportive, conscious culture around each individual that enables wellbeing, engagement and success
We see inclusion, in our context as having two distinct aspects:
- inclusion within the school’s boundaries, with the right to full access to the school’s curriculum and to be a respected and valued member of the school community
- inclusion in the wider community, which includes the school, through the offering of support to access appropriate learning, social and cultural opportunities
This approach to inclusion is achieved through recognising individual needs, talents and wishes and endeavouring to create appropriate opportunities to support these.
