Organisation

The Sheiling School is a unique organisation which draws on a particular ethos and set of associated values. This gives the school a particular flavour. This section gives details of the organisational context of the school in terms of our governance, leadership and management structures. The marathon on Sports Day

Our identity is that of a Camphill community, utilising curative educational principles, combined with contemporary special educational practice. This complex mix of values, from being a place where many of our co-workers make the school their home, to the need to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and the need to meet the needs of a range of stakeholders, requires creative governance and management.

The school is part of the Sheiling Trust, an educational charity, incorporating four autonomous entities – the Sheiling School, the Lantern Community, Ringwood Waldorf School and Sturts Farm Community. The school has its own governing body, under the governance of the charity's trustees. The management structure ensures the smooth running of the school. Also included in this section are details of the school’s improvement planning (SIP), training provision and staffing, including roles and qualifications.
