Traditionally Camphill communities have
relied on live-in co-workers to carry out the majority of roles.
Over recent years the Sheiling School has increasingly relied on recruiting
employees from the local community and further afield. The school is
open to consider roles as open to either employed or "live-in"
status,
though there may be constraints on this flexibility, e.g. housing. Those
looking for live-in opportunities should see the
volunteers section for additional information.

House Coordinator:
The House Coordinator will
be responsible for care management and the overall running of one of our
residential houses for children with severe learning disabilities aged 6
to 19. Potential candidates for this role should have an NVQ3 in Care
or equivalent, and a minimum of 3 years experience in a Camphill or
similar Care or Educational establishment. A Camphill background or
knowledge and experience of Curative Education is a bonus. This is a 35
hour per week job, with a salary of £23,512.

Garden Workshop Leader:
The Garden Workshop Leader
will be responsible for running our kitchen garden as a workshop for
learning disabled adolescents and generally caring for the planted areas
of our large and beautiful estate. A background in horticulture and
working with children with learning disabilities is required, with
Biodynamic Agriculture and Curative Educational experience being
advantageous. This is a 37.5 hour per week job with a salary of
£19,285.

care management. We are particularly interested to hear from anyone with a
care background, with experience of Rudolf Steiner principles and
approaches, or who has NVQ3 qualifications or higher in care. We are open
to discuss the possibilities for either live-in Camphill-style arrangements
or employment. These roles are demanding but rewarding and offer the
potential to make a valued contribution to the school.
