SDP - School Development Plan
As with all schools we constantly strive to extend and improve the opportunities, experiences and outcomes for all our pupils. During the period 2011-12 the main areas of our School Development Plan include:
- Developing our post-19 College provision.
- Improving our short break provision, including extending Dorset Shortbreak Transformation contract.
- Implement the Children's Home standards.
- Increase data collection and analysis for progression in core subjects, PHSE and PE.
Every Child Matters at the Sheiling School (despite the government dropping this approach) and, in addition to the focus points above, over the next year we will:
- Further developing our provision to better meet the needs of our pupils with complex learning needs.
- Develop our sex education policy and associated scheme of work.
- Introducing careers education for post-16 students.
- Develop our playground facilities in conjunction with the pupil council.
- Develop outdoor learning environments for our Lower School pupils.
